Meet Matt
I’m a local guy, born and raised in Lakeville, Minnesota. I’ve served as Mayor of Lakeville, a State Senator, and a Lakeville City Councilor. I own a law firm where I fight for seniors and those with disabilities who have been hurt by negligence or abuse. I live in New Market Township with my wife, Coco, our daughter, Poppy, three dogs, and a rabbit named Mochi. I’ve been a fighter my whole life, and I’m ready to fight for progressive policies in Washington.

Working families are fighting harder than ever just to stay afloat. That’s why I’m fighting for progressive policies like Medicare for All, affordable childcare, tax breaks for everyday Americans, and a tax on the ultrawealthy.
Greed and dark money have corrupted our politics and pushed our democracy to the brink. I’m fighting to right the ship, get our country back from the oligarchs, and keep Americans free.
Free to peacefully protest, free to find and live out their American dream, and free from reckless, incompetent, and cruel federal policies.
Policies that carelessly wreck the economy, stoke inflation, terrorize our neighbors, and slash vital public services that seniors, veterans, and children depend on. I’m fighting mad right now, and I know you are, too. America won independence from a King before; we can do it again.

About the district
I grew up in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District (MN CD2), from my parents’ home in Lakeville to my high school in Rosemount and my home in New Market Township. I’m fighting for my home district, for my neighbors, my family, and my daughter.
