Fighting for the Future
I’m running to fight for my home. I’m fighting for every underdog who works hard but still can’t get ahead, and for families who can’t afford groceries, child care, health care, or assisted living. I grew up in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District (MN CD2) in my folks’ home in Lakeville, went to high school in Rosemount, and I now live in New Market Township. I understand what people in this area need.
I’m running because the American Dream shouldn’t be out of reach for anyone.
I’m fighting for a future where Americans are still free. Free to pursue the American dream; free to peacefully protest, and free from reckless, incompetent, and cruel federal policies. Policies that carelessly wreck the economy, stoke inflation, and slash vital public services that seniors, veterans, and children depend on.
Sure, I’m in favor of cutting red tape and eliminating wasteful spending, but this administration has made incoherent, overnight cuts to life-saving programs either accidentally or deliberately, and then refused to fix their own mistakes. If you’re going to cut medical treatments and food supplies for kids who need them to live, at least have the guts to look those kids in the eyes. Cruelty isn’t kindness. It isn’t Christian. It isn’t policy. And it sure as hell isn’t American.
I’m running for Democracy; standing up for all the rebels, mavericks, and misfits. People who believe that Democracy and the rule of law are what separates America from tin-pot dictatorships, and the worst devils of our natures. Lying to judges, arresting people without due process, and disregarding legitimate court orders are all examples of how democracies die, but now they are happening here, in America.
I’m fighting for the healthcare my Mom needs, the retirement my Dad needs, and the future my daughter deserves. I’m running because if we don’t win back Congress, there will be nothing left of our country for her to inherit.
People don’t expect much from Congress anymore. That’s about to change. I’m willing to fight. Are you willing to join me?
