Supporting Families and Children
I love my daughter, Poppy. And I know firsthand that childcare costs are astronomical even with just one kid and two parents working full-time. Raising a child is the most important thing I’ll ever do. I don’t want anyone to be forced to choose between earning a paycheck and doing right by their kids.
To make childcare accessible in this country, we need to expand the supply and reform the subsidies so they reach more people. Affordable, accessible childcare requires an expanded Child Care Tax Credit, revising burdensome regulations that make small-scale child care financially impossible, recognizing home-based providers should be part of the system, and providing public support for working families that can’t afford childcare and can’t afford not to work.
